Designing for the Slow Light of Afternoon.
Why we map a room hour by hour before drawing a single elevation, and how daylight changes a plan.
Orenda is a boutique interior studio shaping calm, cinematic rooms for private homes, hotels and buildings with a long memory.
About The Studio
Studios in Milan and Geneva. Fifteen designers, makers and stewards of slow craft.
Founded in 2014, Orenda treats every interior as a composition — sketched slowly, tested in daylight, then built once and built well.
Our Service
Three disciplines, one studio standard. Every commission is led by a single steward from first sketch to handover.
Private homes and family residences drawn with restraint — rooms that hold light well and age without fuss.
Boutique hotels, members’ clubs and destination restaurants — atmospheres that keep a guest a little longer.
Landmark buildings brought quietly into the present — keeping what the century left behind, changing only what fails.
Our Work
Every commission carries its own tone, while the studio language stays constant. Filter through the work below.
Our Approach
Step 01
The first week is spent watching — how light crosses the plan, where the house is quiet, where it is tired. Nothing is drawn until the building has been listened to.
Step 02
Material boards, lighting studies and spatial drawings settle into one direction. You see the whole interior in miniature before a single wall is touched.
Step 03
Our ateliers build, stewards site-supervise. Every finish is reviewed in daylight and by lamplight before we hand the rooms back to you.
Testimonials
“They did not design us a house, they composed one. Three years on, the rooms still feel measured — nothing is louder than it needs to be.”
“What impressed us was the restraint. Each decision arrived with a reason, and every reason held up two years later when the building had settled.”
“Guests ask who lives here. That is the whole brief for a hotel, and they understood it before we had finished explaining it.”

A note on the finishes that let an interior age with dignity instead of chasing the moment.
Building guest rooms that read like private residences, with enough character to stay in the mind.
